Lucky Day

I was on my way to collect eggs from the coop and found 4 four leaf clovers and then collected two eggs instead of just one. Then later I sold one of my 4 roosters. I need to sell one more. I am still on the hunt for black copper Marans. Maybe I could find some to buy at one of the fairs.
I have to start making a birthday banner with a band theme. Now to go organize all the materials.

Eggs

I am now starting to reap the benefits of raising and keeping chickens. The bugs are being eaten and the lawn fertilized and they are almost like kids. Dad collected the first egg yesterday when he let them out to free range for the day. Exciting to start getting eggs and today another egg, it was smaller and lighter in color so I am wondering is it the same Hen? I really can't wait the younger blue ameraucanas to start laying blue eggs. I am also looking to get two Chickens that lay dark chocolate brown eggs. No luck so far. I don't want to start with babies again. It was hard with no place but in our small home to keep them then God blessed me with a free coop from a neighbor to raise them in.

It's been quite awhile since i have posted on my blog.
The new interest in my life is chickens.
I now have 7 grand kids. They are all girls and one boy.
The youngest is a girl at 5 months old. She was born on the 31st of Dec and then I lost my Mother in the first week of January. The Lord God gives and the Lord takes away. Someday I will see her again. I miss her. My Mother as a little girl and then a nice photo taken on Mother's Day a couple years ago.

June 2011 news in my life

I have been taken into a different direction in my life. I have taken on caring for my granddaughter in the evening. My youngest daughter is due anyday now with her first baby. She is having a baby girl and her name is Audrey. I can't wait to see her and hold her in my arms.
I am having so much fun taking care of Addi J and watching her grow and learn. I love being Nana. Oh the joy. She is like honey and i can't get enough.
So my crafting has taken a backseat for now.

Happy New Year

Well I have been so wrapped up in reading everybody elses blogs I forget to post updates on my own blog. I need to start putting all the fabulous creative ideas I learn about on all the different blogs I visit everyday. I love new ideas but I need to learn to stay focused on one thing and finish it before moving on to another.
I knitted a hat for my daughter's husband-to-be in his fav color, bright green. I had alot of yarn left over so I knitted a scarf to match his hat.
I just finished crocheting an owl I learned about. I think he is cute. So now I am working on a white owl. Soon as I finish the white owl I will begin knitting and crocheting for my daughter. She is expecting her first baby. So Exciting! She is not having an easy time with feeling nauseas.
I will be working on a white chrocheted crib blanket then a Cat in the Hat themed baby quilt.
This will be a year full of life!

My granddaughter is three this month. I came up with this card creation after midnight. She loves the color purple and bling. It can be used in a scrapbook layout about her party.

Happy Button Day on Monday November 16th

I guess yesterday was National Button Day. So here is a photo of my button cookies I made a couple weeks ago. The recipe is a maple sugar cookie. But no one liked the cookie. I guess they aren't sweet enough. I would make them again but maybe sandwich them together with a yummy frosting.

My Very First Scrapbook Layout of my Sweet Granddaughter

I had so much fun creating my very first scrapbook layout pages of my sweet granddaughter. I had the best time working on it over at my daughter's home with her. I used the layout from the CTMH page kit she did called Twitterpatted. I have been adding little embellishments here and there as I get inspired to do so. Like today I have added scrunched ribbon and stickers since these photos.

I got to use my paper I love from Melissa Frances and Webster's Pages and cotton eyelet lace and scallop edge punch with lots of little pink gems sprinkled about.

I used my Slice to cut out Scrolls and her name and mushroom stamp set from CTMH.

Apple Pie Anyone?

Hi, Yeah I know it's been like forever since I last posted. Sorry. I have been busy with making cards and creating my first ever double page scrapbook layout. But first I will share my photos of my fabulous apple pie and maple button cookies. Also the colorful Autumn entry to our home.
