I just found Betsy McCall Paper Doll website. I remember fighting with my sisters to get the paper doll in the Monthly magazine. Then when I had daughters, they loved the paper doll also.
When I was growing up, we didn't have money to buy toys so we had to use our imaginations. We created paper dolls from the neighbors Sears catalog. We had so much fun creating our paper families and cardboard houses, paper furniture. In the process we certainly developed a very creative mind. Maybe families should bring back those ways to develop the childs creative thinking process. I tried to with my girls when they were young. I showed them how to create with many different mediums.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day to all those scrapppers and scrappers-to-be out there in creative land this month. I probably won't be scrapping today but will be everyday this week.
I wanted everyone to learn about a special class that Bety has up on her blog. I would love taking a class from the best designer I know of. She has a very creative mind and her work is so pretty. I love it so much. I have even purchased supplies from her website. I had to get the pretty paper she uses in her cards.
Here is the link to her blog:

HAPPY MAY DAY! :)
I love the month of May. I remember in my school days when I made a May basket to hang on the class teacher. The class would bring in candy to fill the basket and after lunch and recess we would go in the classroom before the teacher came in and put the basket on her chair and when she came in and went to sit down she would see the basket. Now the chase was on. The rule was that she had to catch everyone in her class before she could have the candy. So we all ran outside and had a blast killing time so we didn't have to go back to schoolwork. It was so much fun. Ahhh those were the days. Then to continue the fun when we got back home we hung a basket on our Mother. Those were back in the days when a piece or two of candy cost a penny.

Spring is almost here! :)
Today I watched a Robin pluck a worm out of the soil on the front lawn. Good signs for sure. The spiders are starting to run about the ceiling too. Yuk! I hate spiders. My cat likes to catch 'em. Yay! I see rain for tonight instead of snow. That's good news.

Hi everyone. Over on Jennifer's Blog today she asked the question: How can we save money. So I remembered I saw this awesome tip here on this blog and think it really helps in many ways. Check it out. It shows how to reuse the printed paper inside of envelopes. Great ideas.

Celebration today. :)
Today is my Birthday. :) I have recieved a card from my Sweet Aunt Martha, my Mom-in-law, my Sis. These are people who give cards on time unlike me. I don't know why I wait til the last minute to try and come up with a card idea. I need to work on that. ( one new years resolve)
My Mother told me I was born on the coldest day of that year. I think it's suppose to be a pretty nice day. I went to get my driver's license renewed today and couldn't because of the gov. getting strick on ID ing and making sure of citisenship. I have to show my birth certificate and prove my legal residence. Everyone from now on has to show these two documents to renew your license. But they gave me a temp to give me time to bring it in which was kool.
I got a Pandora bracelet for Christmas and two of my daughters gave me a charm for it. Then I got two more with the money gift from my Mom and Dad and my Mom-in-law. So today I got two more for my Birthday. I have two kinds now. Pandora and Chamilia beads. I luv the bracelet and charms. It's fun. http://www.pandora-jewelry.com/ and http://www.chamilia.com/.
I will work on getting photos up on for my next posting.

Check it out...
http://iralamija.blogspot.com/
Her work is simply gorgeous. She is a very talented girl. You won't be sorry....
Took my Mom shopping to the craft store. She had fun looking at all the papercraft supplies with me. I am wondering now that maybe she would like me to teach her how to make a card. I think she just might have some fun. I found the most beautiful brads by K&Company. I luv their stuff. Also got some of their gem adhesives. I got a big 2 1/4 inch circle punch by Paper Shapers but it does not cut the paper so I am going to have to drive bout 30 miles to exchange it for another one. What I would really like to find is the circle coluzzle template.

My Latest Projects
Monday, January 26, 2009
Hello
It's the last week for January and makes us a lttle closer to warmer weather. It has been miserably freezing this month. But we are much better off than some. Like my Mom and Dad having their water pipes and drains freeze up.
I am so excited about winning a really nice idea book over on Jennifer's Blog. Can't wait to get it in the mail.
I have been checking out the Making Memories Blog today hoping to win a prize from their give-aways from the CHA show in California. They are showing the New Product coming out this year. They are also giving away their new electronic cutting tool: SLICE machine. I got one for Christmas. I have'nt had a chance to use it yet. My DH went to buy it at A.C. Moore two weeks before Christmas and they were sold out so he got a raincheck. I didn't get it 'til yesterday. I also picked up two design cards for it, Basics 2 and Noteworthy. It comes with Basics 1. They have come out with new design cards for it at the CHA show.
I finally finished the afghan I crocheted for my Son-in-law. He loves it. He likes how warm it is. It is in the colors black and neon green which he likes.

Best Wishes for a God Blessed New Year!
Hope everyone's Christmas was merry and bright.
I have started to crochet a lap-ghan for giving to someone. Hopefully it will keep me warm while I make it. It is so cold. I hate it.
I will be working on alot of projects this month in preperation for Valentine's Day and Birthdays for the new year. I will also be working on organizing my messed up craft space. I also need to upload photos I have taken so I can share them here on my blog. Here are a few photos. Hope you enjoy.
